Have you heard about Micromax LapTab?

When you hear about a LapTab, some people may have heard about Lexibook LapTab. However, the word will have a new meaning with the launch of a new device from Micromax. Laptop + Tablet = LapTab – as the name suggests, its a mix of these two devices. The main idea is you should be able to carry just one device and get the ease of use of any of those.

Micromax LapTab  was annonuced at CES on Monday and will be available in India in February.

Detailed Specifications:

This device is powered by an Intel Bay Trail-M processor / dual-core Intel N2805 processor. It runs at 1.46GHz and is fast enough, considering it is powering a device that has full version of Windows. The internal storage is 32GB or 64GB. . It will run on both Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and Windows 8, with a booting needed the switch over.

Micromax has built LapTab in partnership with Intel, which is pushing these hybrid devices capable of supporting both Android and Windows 8.1.

Hardware: It has a 10.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels.

It has a HDMI port and a micro USB 3.0 port, which is similar to the one found on Galaxy Note 3.

USB 3.0 port is backward compatible with micro USB 2.0. There is also a slot for microSD card. The tablet supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Its a bit too early to see what impact it has in this space and how it compares with above Tablets.

Going by recent news, Micromax seems to be eyeing the world market with launch of this new interesting device.
